Snow Rose...

Beautiful perfection. Nature does it like that.

Sunday is a time for peaceful reflection and hope for the future. It's also a time to stay happily in the present. We had a longer than usual  rose bloom season this last year and I decided not to prune in the fall but to wait to prune roses in the spring. Perhaps I was being a procrastinator, okay maybe I was a little bit but I'm so happy I did! What a delightful gift I was given by my loving Heavenly Father when I saw this.

Take time to smell the roses, no matter the season.  He blesses us in His time and in each season.

Red for February 1st!

February 1st. How did it get to be February already?  I am working my way through a stack of UFO's and this is my February project. All the piecing is finished now I get to be creative and quilt it. I can't wait to see how the quilting adds dimension and it will really bring this one to life.

February is red, pink, hearts, roses!

Hundreds okay maybe thousands of 1/2 square triangles for this queen/ king quilt.

As much as I love pink I also love vibrant and this one is vibrant for sure.

Crazy Fun Hats!

A fun holiday project of crazy beanies for some very lovable crazies!  

I was not blessed to have children of my own but am so blessed to have a wonderful friend who allows me to love her kiddies. The kids were 'crazies' on Christmas Eve as they waited for Santa. 

7 wiggly hats. Yes, 7! 5 kids and 2 lovable crazy adults too!

Blessings

Blessings... 

I was fortunate enough to be asked a while back to design and make a couple of blessing gowns for a friend's granddaughter's baby blessings. I recently found some of the photos while doing my New Year's organizing! So happy I decided to do the much needed organizing and cleaning out of stuff... bringing back fond memories of making these for very blessed events in life.

Oh how I wish I had better photographs of this gown. It was so dreamy and soft. I loved the antique tatting I found for it.

 This little one was blessed wearing silk doupioni and roses were attached and scattered throughout the gown.

Thinking of blessings in our lives. I'm a very blessed woman. Had my share of trials and challenges but how blessed I truly am!

Pretty in Pink.

This little American Girl Doll 'Samantha' is my beloved Sammy. She came into my life in a very fun way and is one of my treasures. Years ago I won her on a PBS fundraising auction! 18" dolls are so much fun to sew, crochet and knit for.  The seams are short, the dollies don't wiggle or mind if things don't fit just perfectly! 

Sammy is ready for a nice afternoon visit.  She would be so happy to spend some time with you.

Her little pink corduroy trousers are made from vintage fabric. My mother sewed  a coat for me out of the fabric when I was a toddler (yes, I did just call this fabric vintage!!! although I'm not quite vintage yet!) What a find it is to have scraps leftover from her project of so many years ago. I now know where my fabric stash talents and saving all the scraps addition I have come from. I have enough pink corduroy to use in a new memory quilt project I'm designing and can't wait to show pics of it.

This project was a delight to crochet! A few yarn color changes but so worth the sweetness.

Oh to be pretty in pink trousers with a cozy winter sweater!

Christmas Eve

It's finally Christmas Eve day. Time to enjoy, reflect and look forward to the evening and Christmas Day. There are so many traditions and things to enjoy and blessings in life to be thankful for. May you enjoy your day with loved ones and maybe enjoy a few treats! Remember tonight to go to bed early because Santa doesn't stop at homes where the lights are still turned on!!!
